Wedding Vows
I heard something to this effect on "A Wedding Story", and have elaborated on it. The groom told the bride something like, "I cannot express in words how much I love you, and it would take me a lifetime to show you just how much you mean to me. And that is what I want to do: spend my life with you, demonstrating my respect, admiration, and love."

My friend decided to go with a cat in the hat approach. "Will you take Vicki to be your wife, will you take her in a boat, in a tree, etc..." Very cute.

The following is the vow my fiance & I will say to each other when we exchange our rings at our wedding in the fall. "I give you this ring as a symbol of my love, but when you want to know the true depth of my love, look not at the ring, but into my eyes."

My fiance and I will recite the following vows before our traditional vows.
I vow to always be here for you through thick and thin.
When you fall, I will catch you
When you cry, I will comfort you
When you laugh, I will share your joy.
No matter what lies ahead for us I will see it as a journey.
One, that can only be completed by the two of us together.
From this moment everything I am and everything I have is yours,
and for eternity my love for you will remain

When I was a little girl, I prayed for a man who would sweep me off my feet and share my feelings, hopes, and dreams. God answered that prayer by giving me you to fulfill that dream. You made that dream come true. There is just one thing different — it is far more wonderful than I ever imagined. I dreamed of being in love, but I never dreamed of sharing my soul. I dreamed of sharing my thoughts, but I never dreamed someone could hear me without words. In my darkest trouble; in my brightest joys; in my coldest silence; in my warmest thoughts; I looked for you and you were there. I give you my life and all my love throughout eternity. For yesterday is only a dream and tomorrow is but a vision, but today well-lived makes every yesterday a dream of hope and tomorrow a vision of hope. I am yours forever and I love you.

The following are the vows and reading that Craig and I are using in our wedding ceremony. I hope you enjoy them.
Now you will feel no cold,
for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there is no more loneliness for you,
for each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two bodies,
but there is only one life before you.
The hand which you each offer the other,
is an extension of yourselves;
Just as is the warmth & love which you express to each other.
Cherish the touch,
for you are touching another life.
Be sensitive to it's pulse,
& try to understand & respect it's flow & rhythm,
Just as you would your own.
Go now to your dwelling place,
to enter into the days of your togetherness.
& may your days be good & long upon this earth.

These are the vows my fiance and I will be taking on August 4, 2001: "I, De-Ann, take you, Cameron, to be my husband, knowing in my heart that you will be my constant friend, my faithful partner and my one true love. I promise to be there when you need me, to fill your days with love, to comfort you and encourage you, to help you reach your goals and to love you with all of my heart, for all of my life. I give you this ring as a symbol of our love. With it I wed you and give you my body, heart and soul."

I care not whether the skies are blue
Or the clouds gleam dark above me.
A sweet thought comes with the thought of you,
You love me, how you love me.
And work is vain endeavour,
A sweet voice sings to my soul of you,
And the world is sweet forever.
And the red lips sweet with kisses,
I have no love like my love for you,
No joy in the world like this is.
With stars or storms above me,
My life will shine with the thought of you,
You love me, how you love me.
